PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bakki yAkoi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Blaze!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yAkoi misses with a two punch combination.
yAkoi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Blaze cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Blaze tries to clinch but yAkoi is having none of it.
Blaze displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

It looks like Bakki yAkoi has been cut.

Blaze has yAkoi up against the cage in a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
yAkoi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Blaze just stands there and leans against the cage.
yAkoi prevents a body shot from Blaze.
yAkoi misses with a knee strike.
Blaze tried to land a shot to the body but connects with yAkoi's elbow.
Blaze lands a body shot in the clinch.
yAkoi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Blaze digs a right hand into yAkoi's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on yAkoi's gas tank.
yAkoi is breathing heavily.
Blaze prevents a takedown attempt there.

A right hook to the body lands for Blaze.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Blaze creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Blaze feints and then cracks yAkoi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow yAkoi down.
yAkoi takes one to the side of the head.

Blaze darts in and clinches yAkoi up against the cage.
Blaze digs a right hand into yAkoi's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on yAkoi's gas tank.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blaze lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Blaze escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Blaze clinches up with yAkoi and pushes him back against the cage.
Blaze makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Blaze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Blaze is looking to slow yAkoi down with leg kicks.
Blaze pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Blaze instigates a clinch.

Blaze's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Blaze darts in and clinches yAkoi up against the cage.
Blaze works on yAkoi's body with a couple of short punches.
yAkoi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blaze avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

yAkoi shoots for a double leg takedown but Blaze sprawls well. He's pushed yAkoi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Blaze fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Blaze scores with a crisp jab that stopped yAkoi in his tracks.

Blaze closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Blaze gets through yAkoi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
yAkoi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Blaze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
yAkoi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

yAkoi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Blaze to score with a decent uppercut.

Blaze misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyson Blaze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blaze fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Blaze moves into the clinch successfully.

Blaze throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

yAkoi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Blaze fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches yAkoi on the side of the head.

yAkoi is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Blaze lands with a big right hook that stumbles yAkoi - he's out on his feet here! Blaze follows up with another monster hook that separates yAkoi from consciousness! yAkoi falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Blaze stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
