PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tourniquet kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alex Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Lee!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee slips a jab and a cross from Cole.
Bruce Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee throws the left hand but Cole avoids the punch easily.
Cole keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lee.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Cole shows good takedown defense.
Lee lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Cole moves out of range of the strikes.
Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Cole.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Cole.
Lee swings for the body but Cole moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole shoots and misses
and Lee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cole swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Lee manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cole on his heels. He'll look to pass Cole's guard now, I'm sure.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cole bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

Lee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cole is aware though and is defending well.
Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cole postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lee is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Cole pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cole wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

Cole stands up from Lee's guard - Cole perhaps looking for a knockout.

Cole throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A big left from Lee misses.
Lee misses with a straight left.
Lee thows a left - swing and a miss!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

It looks like Alex Cole has been cut.
Lee tests Cole's chin there with a solid looking shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Lee dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alex Cole's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lee lands a really nice looking cross but Cole seems unphased.

Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cole.
Cole drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Cole misses with a double jab

and Lee counters by clinching up.
Good body shot from Lee.
Lee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lee lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cole is trying to break the clinch but Lee is controlling him.
Nice body punch from Lee - that landed with a thud.
A right hook to the body lands for Lee.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cole takes a shot to the head.
Lee cracks Cole with a nice body shot.
Lee lands with a short shot to the head.

Lee lands a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lee landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cole with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cole avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lee thows a huge punch but Cole dodges it nicely.
Lee is nestled in close to Cole, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Cole keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Lee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Cole has hold of Lee's hands but Lee slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Lee drops an elbow to the side of Cole's head.
Oh Cole is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cole seems to have got his legs back now.
Lee is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Lee moves nicely into side control.
Lee tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
An elbow from Lee crashes against the mat.
Lee lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lee scoring with punches from side control.
Lee lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Lee misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lee in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Cole is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bruce Lee!
Bruce Lee gave a mention to SPARTA FIGHTWARE-GTI in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
