And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Williams!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams darts in trying to clinch

and Barral counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Barral moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that!

Barral pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Williams is trying to escape the mount.
Williams's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Williams tries to buck Barral off but Barral takes his back!
Barral controls the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barral has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Williams trying to control the hands but Barral won't let him.

We're going to have a standup here because Renato Barral wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nice sprawl there from Barral as Williams shoots in.

and Barral counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Williams!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Barral has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Williams wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
What can Williams do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Williams is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Barral off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Barral is riding his opponent, not letting Williams buck him off.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Barral keeps control of the position as Williams tries to break free.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Barral controlling the positon.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Williams closes the distance looking to clinch

and Barral counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barral.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barral passes Williams's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Barral counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Barral perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Renato Barral just wasn't active enough.

Barral closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.

Williams wants to get back to full guard but Barral has passed into side control.
Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Barral controls the position from side control.
Barral's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Williams bucks up and tries to throw Barral off but instead Barral has got his back!

Barral shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Williams is trying to defend but Barral finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Barral passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Williams!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barral, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
