Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 74 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kiwi Bird!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardison rushes Bird and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Hardison bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hardison tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardison has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hardison tries to move to mount but Bird blocks the move with his legs.
Hardison decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bird to his feet.
Hardison tries a head kick but it misses.

Hardison shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hardison's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hardison gets to his feet. Bird looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hardison thuds a left hand into Bird's body.
Hardison looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bird looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hardison pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Bird should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hardison cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bird wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hardison.
Bird really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bird's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hardison tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hardison seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bird for as long as he can get away with.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Emiley Hardison just wasn't active enough.
