Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fat Vincento! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vincento misses with a wild body shot. Vincento ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away. Diaz throws a jab but it's blocked by Vincento. Vincento throws a poor cross that misses
and Diaz counters with a right hand to the body. Diaz misses with a straight right. A looping hook to the body misses from Vincento. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet. Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing. Vincento throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vincento shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vincento showed some decent athleticism there. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vincento pulls his head out easily. Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ground and pound from Vincento.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz actively working from the bottom here. Vincento trying to pass the guard but Diaz defending well. Vincento trying to control from half guard but Diaz is working away. Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vincento is pressing down on Diaz's thigh, looking to free his foot. That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vincento pulls his head out easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vincento looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Diaz actively working from the bottom here. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vincento looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Diaz is rocked! Vincento landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Oh Diaz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Vincento really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vincento moves into full mount! Diaz won't be happy about that! Vincento lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Diaz! Vincento sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Diaz and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
