PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hiroki Ishakima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Satoshi Kajiwara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroki Ishakima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Kajiwara!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Ishakima.
Kajiwara is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ishakima.


It looks like Satoshi Kajiwara has been cut.
Kajiwara looks for a takedown but Ishakima sprawls well.
Kajiwara has his takedown stuffed
and Ishakima counters with a three punch combo that has Kajiwara backing up. Kajiwara nods at Ishakima to acknowledge the strikes.
Kajiwara shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ishakima as he avoids it easily.
Hiroki Ishakima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Satoshi Kajiwara.
Kajiwara shoots in for a double leg but Ishakima sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ishakima scores with a nice strike.
Ishakima misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Kajiwara.
Kajiwara swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kajiwara fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ishakima, pushing him back against the cage.
Ishakima missing with knees to the body.
Kajiwara blocks the elbow strike.
Ishakima softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Ishakima throws a punch but it's blocked by Kajiwara.
Ishakima tries to land knees in the clinch but Kajiwara avoids the damage to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kajiwara manages to break the clinch.
Kajiwara fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kajiwara has closed the distance and engaged Ishakima in a clinch.

Kajiwara gets control of Ishakima's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kajiwara will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kajiwara trying to keep a closed guard but Ishakima is proving a slippery customer.

Ishakima avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ishakima got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kajiwara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ishakima has managed to get both his arms back between Kajiwara's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ishakima engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Kajiwara is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ishakima sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Kajiwara controlling Ishakima's posture.

Kajiwara looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ishakima gets to his feet - Kajiwara follows without any prompting.
Kajiwara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ishakima swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ishakima scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kajiwara closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kajiwara is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kajiwara perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kajiwara is trying to control. Ishakima wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kajiwara is trying for a kimura here. Ishakima looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kajiwara wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Satoshi Kajiwara!
