Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shigeo Miyato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Bodies/Drowning pool. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kirk Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shigeo Miyato! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gracie is working for a kimura but Miyato is defending it quite comfortably.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Miyato is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Miyato is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miyato controlling the position for now. Miyato is trying to get back to full guard. Miyato is trying to control but Gracie manages to pass to mount!
Gracie goes for an armbar but Miyato turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Miyato.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Miyato trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Miyato defends easily.
Miyato won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Miyato trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miyato doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miyato manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Miyato pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miyato is working for a submission of some sort.
Miyato is just content to waste time from the top position. Gracie takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Miyato sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gracie has an active guard here but Miyato has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Miyato trying to pass the guard but Gracie defending well. Miyato trying to control from Gracie's half guard. Gracie has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Miyato trying to move into half guard but instead Gracie has managed to sweep! Gracie wants to control from the top but Miyato keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miyato not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kirk Gracie will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Miyato looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miyato knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Miyato is defending well. Kirk Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie controlling the position from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to control but Miyato is keeping him busy. Miyato is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back! Miyato is trying to control but Gracie is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Miyato goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Miyato gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miyato trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Miyato works a leg free and moves into half guard. Miyato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working. Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Miyato is working away from the top position though. Miyato moves into full mount! Gracie won't be happy about that! Miyato goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gracie turns into him and now he's in Miyato's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Miyato. Gracie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gracie wants to control from the top but Miyato keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gracie advances to half guard. Miyato is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Kirk Gracie dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Miyato shoots and misses and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gracie advances position into side control! You can see the frustration on Miyato's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miyato, who protects the arm well. Gracie wants to control but Miyato is keeping him busy. Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miyato knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miyato keeps working. Miyato gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Miyato is looking to escape. Gracie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Miyato is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miyato trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Miyato defends easily.
Gracie looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Miyato drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Miyato has Gracie in his guard.

Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Miyato looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Miyato looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Miyato!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miyato trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. Miyato thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Kirk Gracie showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
