Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Angero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, tj Miller! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Miller stuffs the takedown attempt from Angero. Angero gets slowly back to his feet. Angero misses with a takedown and Miller moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Angero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miller gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Angero.
Miller is defending well against a takedown attempt. Angero drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Miller gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Angero keeps control of Miller as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Miller lands an elbow inside. Angero is trying to pull guard but Miller has him pressed against the cage. Miller wants the takedown. Angero is fighting it off but Miller persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Angero's guard against the cage. Angero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Angero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Angero is tightening it up a little... Miller has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Miller reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Miller taps out! Nice BJJ there by Angero!
