Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Rogan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kj Barakus! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogan misses with the combination.
Barakus drops his hands momentarily and Rogan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Rogan scores with a one two! Barakus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Kj Barakus has been cut. Barakus shoots in for a takedown but Rogan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rogan digs a good hook to Barakus's body.
Barakus drives through with a takedown into Rogan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barakus is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rogan tries to get out of the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Barakus asserts his dominance and retains side control. "I don't think so" says Rogan as he avoids it easily. Barakus looks gassed! Rogan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Barakus doesn't seem bothered though. Rogan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barakus at a distance.
Rogan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Rogan tries to bum rush Barakus with a series of wild strikes but Barakus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rogan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rogan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Barakus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barakus somewhat. Joe Rogan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rogan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rogan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rogan throws a combination. Barakus tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Rogan is looking to score with low kicks. Rogan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Barakus eats them both and turns towards Rogan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Barakus shoots in and gets a takedown into Rogan's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rogan has his feet on Barakus's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Barakus crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rogan - the referee stops the clock and Barakus gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rogan. Barakus manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Barakus is breathing heavily. Rogan scores with a nice body kick.
Joe Rogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barakus has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Rogan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rogan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barakus pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Rogan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Rogan throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Rogan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rogan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Rogan misses with a leg kick. Rogan lands a jab to the head.

Kj Barakus has got the better of the ground game so far. Barakus is in close to Rogan's body, working some short punches and elbows. Barakus works a leg free and moves into half guard. Barakus has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Rogan. Barakus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Joe Rogan wins by majority decision! A very excited looking Joe Rogan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
