Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jurmas Uusisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Yo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uusisto comes to the cage accompanied by System Of A Down - B.Y.O.B.. Yo has chosen Yö - Likaiset Legendat as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jurmas Uusisto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timo Yo!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uusisto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yo sprawls well. Yo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Uusisto gets slowly back to his feet.
Yo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Yo misses with an uppercut.
Yo takes one on the button.
Yo throws a body punch but Uusisto moves out of range.
Yo thows a body shot but no joy.
Uusisto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yo was well out of range. Poor timing from Uusisto.
Uusisto loads up on a big right hand but Yo slips the punch.
Uusisto walks into a jab.
Yo misses with a hook.
Uusisto's jab looks to have found its range, popping Yo under the eye.
Yo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Uusisto.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Uusisto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Yo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Uusisto misses with a body shot.
Yo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Uusisto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yo missing with a left hand there. Uusisto was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Uusisto connects with a right hand. Yo shakes it off.
Yo blocks a jab.

Yo slips under a jab from Uusisto.
Uusisto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Uusisto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Uusisto bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Uusisto moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Yo goes down! Can Uusisto finish him!?

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Uusisto is stalling in the full guard.
Yo is still in real trouble! Can Uusisto finish him?
Uusisto wants to control from the top but Yo keeps moving.
Uusisto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Uusisto landing with the ground and pound.
Uusisto working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Yo seems to have recovered his senses.

Yo keeping moving, preventing Uusisto from controlling successfully.
Uusisto is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Uusisto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yo's head.
Uusisto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Uusisto trying to control the position from guard on top but Yo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Uusisto postures up in Yo's guard and throws a big left but Yo blocks it.
Uusisto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Yo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Uusisto controls the pace.
Uusisto wants to pass the guard but Yo is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jurmas Uusisto.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Uusisto.
Uusisto stalks Yo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Yo's face. Yo staggers backwards, shaken.
Yo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yo misses the jab.

A left lands for Uusisto.
Yo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Uusisto.

Uusisto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Uusisto is stalling here. Yo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Uusisto seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Yo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Uusisto gets back to half guard.
Uusisto avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Yo.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Jurmas Uusisto has been cut.

Yo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Uusisto tries to buck Yo off but Yo is having none of it.
Uusisto regains half guard.
Yo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Uusisto to regain full guard.
Yo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Yo wants to stand but Uusisto is controlling his posture from full guard.

Yo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Yo postures up and lands a big shot to Uusisto's brow.
Uusisto has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Yo trying to control but Uusisto is working from the bottom.
Uusisto not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Uusisto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yo defends well.
Yo distracts Uusisto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Yo throwing strikes from guard but Uusisto blocks nicely.
Uusisto is trying to keep Yo in close.
Yo works over Uusisto with some ground and pound from guard.

Uusisto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yo defends it easily.
Yo throws an elbow that misses. Uusisto uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yo's guard. Nice move by Uusisto!

Uusisto wants to control from the top but Yo keeps moving.
Uusisto trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Yo manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Timo Yo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Uusisto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Uusisto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yo.
Yo takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Yo leaves Uusisto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Uusisto stuns Yo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yo throws a lazy right hand but Uusisto sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yo cracks Uusisto with a good jab.
Uusisto tries to clinch up.
Uusisto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A lazy left from Yo finds it's target.
Yo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Uusisto to score with a decent uppercut.

Uusisto wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yo lands a body shot.
Uusisto comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Yo slips a jab from Uusisto.
Yo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Uusisto in his tracks.
Uusisto connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Yo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Uusisto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yo at a distance.
Uusisto throws out a powerful jab.
Uusisto throws a good cross that connects.
Uusisto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yo as he jumps to the side.
Uusisto circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Yo to the canvas! Yo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Uusisto keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jurmas Uusisto!
