PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jo El (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baby Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bean is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Baby Bean song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jo El! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Baby Bean! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! El fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bean wants to slow El down by chopping away at his legs. Bean fails in his attempt to clinch. Bean swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. El throws the left hand but Bean avoids the punch easily. Bean throws a shot from downtown. El moves away and avoids it. El throws a solid leg kick but Bean takes the impact on his shin and smiles at El. Bean misses with a series of wild punches.
Bean connects with the punch. Bean is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by El. Bean takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. El misses with a few strikes there.
El throws a looping overhand right but Bean ducks down to avoid it. El throws a low kick, looking for Bean's leg but Bean calmly moves out of range. Bean throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. El misses with a low kick. Bean rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
so El counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bean is trying to control the position but El postures up. El is looking to work some ground and pound but Bean has wrist control. El is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. El working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. El throwing strikes from guard but Bean blocks nicely. El trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. El trying to control but Bean is working from the bottom. Bean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. El not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. El moves out of range of the strikes. Bean misses with a hook. El ducked under it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. El misses with a double jab
and Bean counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Jo El has been cut. Bean uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. El throws a low kick, looking for Bean's leg but Bean calmly moves out of range. Some bone on bone action there as Bean checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. El tries to land a leg kick but Bean saw it coming and moves away.
El misses with a hook to the body
and Bean counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A jab from Bean finds it's way through El's defenses. Bean tries to close the distance and clinch up but El swats him away and circles back towards the center. A telegraphed right hand from El misses the target. El tries to move into range but Bean moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Bean throws a leg kick but El sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bean defends well against a solid takedown attempt from El. El fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. El tries to land a front kick but Bean steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Bean throws a big shot that misses. Bean throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Bean gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. El missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. El throws an elbow that misses. Bean uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in El's guard. Nice move by Bean! Bean passes easily into side control. Nice work. El manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bean's best efforts.
That's five minutes gone in the round. El works his way to full guard. Good work. Bean must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. El controlling the position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bean's corner. There ya go! There ya go! There's a bit of a scramble here and now El is on top in guard.
El throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. El wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving. El is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bean is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's six minutes gone in the round. El chips away with some ground and pound. El stands up over Bean, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! El wants to pass the guard but Bean is keeping the position. El throwing strikes but missing. El looking to sit in guard and control but Bean gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bean is fighting to break El's control of his arms but El is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. El will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Bean wants to get up but he can't break El's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. El seems keen to control Bean's posture. El is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. El is trying to control. Bean wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. El thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Bean blocking the ground and pound attempt from El. El is pressing down on Bean's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bean is holding on for now. Bean is trying to stand up here but El is controlling him well. The fighters are battling for position here. Bean manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bean working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from El. El throwing strikes but missing. El throws an elbow that misses. Bean uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in El's guard. Nice move by Bean!
That's nine minutes gone in the round. El bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bean's guard. Bean utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. El throwing strikes but missing. El trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. El has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. El trying to control the position from guard on top but Bean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. El tries to free his leg and advance position but Bean is retaining full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bean kicks El off and gets to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jo El will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jo El's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Bean utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. El wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving. El with a flurry of punches that miss. El throws a strike but Bean rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. El lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bean! El throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bean because El loaded up on that one.

El with a couple of short strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. El tries to control but Bean wriggling away. El in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

El postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Bean badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of El around the waist but El pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! El is the winner by TKO! El jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
