Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Miles OToole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peekay Williams! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Williams throws a nice outside leg kick. OToole misses with a lunging right hand
and Williams counters with a three punch combo that has OToole backing up. OToole nods at Williams to acknowledge the strikes. OToole shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Williams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Williams performing his best blanket impression for a moment. OToole looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. OToole won't allow Williams to pass to mount. Williams keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Williams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Peekay Williams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. OToole with a lazy takedown attempt and Williams counters with a nice double leg into guard. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but OToole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. OToole wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams is stalling in the full guard. Williams's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Peekay Williams was stalling too much, according to the referee. OToole shoots and misses and Williams counters with a nice leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! No luck for OToole with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miles OToole. That's going to take a lot out of him. OToole with a lazy takedown attempt and Williams counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. OToole doesn't succeed with the takedown and Williams counters with a lovely straight right hand! OToole is breathing heavily. OToole tries for a takedown but Williams circles away easily and Williams counters with a one-two to the body. OToole shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Williams counters with a left and a right that stings OToole. A kick lands to the mid section there for Williams. Williams scores a takedown into full mount! Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. OToole's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Williams controlling the pace for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams with shots to the head and body - OToole looks very uncomfortable down there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peekay Williams dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
OToole shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily. OToole swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
OToole throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease. OToole slips a jab and a cross from Williams.
Williams fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. OToole doesn't succeed with the takedown and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Williams throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Williams slows the pace down in half guard. OToole wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Peekay Williams has got the better of the ground game so far.
Peekay Williams has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Williams checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. OToole misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miles OToole. That's going to take a lot out of him. OToole throws an off balance right hand
and Williams counters with a nice uppercut. Miles OToole is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. OToole throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OToole slips a jab and a cross from Williams.
OToole shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Williams decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in OToole's guard. OToole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Williams with a flurry of punches that miss. Williams sitting in guard, not really doing much. Williams trying to control but OToole is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. OToole is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Peekay Williams was stalling too much, according to the referee. OToole shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Williams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. OToole with a lazy takedown attempt and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Williams connects with a nice short shot to OToole's temple. Williams is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Williams goes for an armbar but he's not got it… OToole turns into him and now he's in Williams's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. OToole pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now. OTooleis looking to pass into half guard but Williams pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Williams is in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! OToole is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Williams sitting in guard, not really doing much. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on OToole, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peekay Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

OToole is looking to take this fight into the clinch. OToole misses with a takedown and Williams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Williams closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into OToole's guard. Williams won't allow OToole to get back to his feet. Williams passes OToole's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Williams is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. OToole is trying to stand up here but Williams is controlling him well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Peekay Williams wasn't active enough on the ground. Williams leaves OToole with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Williams as OToole shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miles OToole. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

OToole tries to clinch but Williams moves out of range. OToole tries to clinch and Williams counters with a three punch combo that has OToole backing up. OToole nods at Williams to acknowledge the strikes. OToole wants to clinch. Williams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in OToole's guard. Williams won't allow OToole to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but OToole has wrist control. Williams is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Williams decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Williams is figuring out what he wants to do next. Williams moves nicely into side control. Williams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by OToole, who protects the arm well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams controlling the position from side mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Peekay Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
