The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul lands a nice looking body shot.
Paul throws a hook to the side of Loxo's head but Loxo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Loxo throws a strike aimed at the side of Paul's head but Paul avoids it well.

Paul takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Paul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Loxo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Loxo is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Paul working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Loxo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Loxo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Paul throws the left hand but Loxo avoids the punch easily.

Les Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paul tries to clinch up but Loxo circles away and keeps his distance.

No joy there for Paul, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Paul lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
