PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Fredrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dan Fredrick has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dan Fredrick seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blue lands a nice looking kick to the body. Fredrick takes a step back to recover.

Fredrick gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Fredrick decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Fredrick tries to clinch up but Blue circles away and keeps his distance.
Blue avoids the body shot from Fredrick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Blue.
A head kick misses from Fredrick.

Fredrick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fredrick is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Fredrick stands up and waves to Blue to follow him.

and Blue connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fredrick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fredrick takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Miles Blue is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blue misses with a two punch combination.
Fredrick fails with the takedown.
Blue pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Fredrick tries to work over Blue's front leg with a kick but Blue checks it.
A right-left combo lands from Blue.

Fredrick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blue as he avoids it easily.
Blue looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miles Blue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Fredrick or perhaps it was just good defense by Blue which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Fredrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fredrick is breathing heavily.
Fredrick tries to bum rush Blue with a series of wild strikes but Blue uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fredrick tries for a takedown but Blue sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Blue has hold of one of Fredrick's legs. Fredrick is fighting the takedown attempt but Blue gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Blue wants to stand but Fredrick is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fredrick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fredrick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blue is working away from the top position though.

Blue wants to stand up but Fredrick is controlling the position.

Blue stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Fredrick to get to his feet.

Blue stalks Fredrick and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fredrick's face. Fredrick staggers backwards, shaken.
Fredrick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blue tries to avoid it but Fredrick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blue to the ground. Blue escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blue lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Blue.

Blue looks to land a combination. Fredrick sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Blue scores with a head kick.
Blue lands a jab-cross combination.
Fredrick shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blue defends it nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Blue. No joy for Fredrick on that attempt.
Blue looks to land a combination. Fredrick sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Blue pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fredrick back to the cage. Blue follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blue takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Blue works Fredrick's body with a nice hook.
Blue scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The fighters circle, before Blue throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Fredrick's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Blue lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
