The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowen tries to clinch but Bex moves out of range.
Bowen misses with a double jab.
Bex closes the distance and clinches.
Bex is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bowen is keeping busy.
Bowen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bex fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bowen avoids it really well and circles away.
Bex lunges at Bowen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bowen's hand.
It looks like Makebono Bowen has been cut.
Bowen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bowen moves to clinch but Bex breaks away
so Bex counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bowen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bex closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bex takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bex is trying to control the action in half guard but Bowen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bowen is trying to stand.
Bowen manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Bex drives through and clinches with Bowen against the cage.
Bowen tries to break free but Bex pushes him back against the cage.

Bex jumps guard and drags Bowen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bex shoots in looking for a takedown. Bowen tries to sprawl out of it but Bex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bowen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bex bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bowen sneaks out the side door and pushes Bex away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Bex counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bowen!

Bowen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
You get the feeling that Bowen really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Bex is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bowen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bowen is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that's the end of the fight!
Robbie Bex showed his dominance in that final round.

In his post fight interview, Robbie Bex started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
