Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shogun's choice of entrance music: Sail - Armi van buuren. Mike Flair could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mauricio Shogun's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Flair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mauricio Shogun! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flair shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shogun but Shogun pushes him off and we're back to square one. Shogun tries to clinch up. A head kick misses from Shogun. Jab from Flair. Flair shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Flair is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shogun is just riding it out for now. Flair eventually gives up the hold. Shogun is not content to let Flair control the position. Flair throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Flair decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Flair walks into a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shogun lands a jab to Flair's midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair closes the distance and clinches up with Shogun, looking for a takedown. Flair pushes Shogun against the ropes but Shogun circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Shogun looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shogun wants to clinch up but Flair keeps it at a distance. Shogun scores with a decent looking hook. Shogun has taken the fight to the clinch.

Shogun lands on the inside with an uppercut. Shogun has Flair pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Flair manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Shogun avoiding damage.

Shogun looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Shogun dives in and grabs Flair's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flair pushes down on Shogun's head and hops out. Flair has a takedown stuffed. Flair shoots in for a double leg but Shogun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shogun rushes Flair and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shogun breaks the clinch.
Flair shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shogun as he avoids it easily. Shogun takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Flair shoots for a double leg takedown but Shogun sprawls well. He's pushed Flair's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Shogun stuffs the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Shogun. No joy for Flair on that attempt. Flair closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shogun circles away. Flair swats away the attempt to clinch by Shogun. Shogun feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Flair's calf.

A frustrated look appears on Shogun's face as he tries to break the clinch. Shogun breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shogun feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Flair's calf. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Flair checks a leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Shogun looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Flair lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shogun circles away quickly and effectively.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shogun tries to sprawl but Flair drives through with a takedown into half guard. Flair throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shogun trying to control from the bottom.
Flair stands up and beckons Shogun to join him on the feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice takedown defense from Shogun. No joy for Flair on that attempt. Flair is breathing heavily. Flair shoots in for a takedown but Shogun shows good takedown defense. Flair takes a jab right on the kisser.
Flair misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shogun is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Flair on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Shogun doesn't manage to clinch there - Flair circles away.
Flair takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Nice takedown defense from Flair. No joy for Shogun on that attempt. Flair throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shogun tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Flair is in Shogun's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauricio Shogun dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Horrible takedown by Flair or perhaps it was just good defense by Shogun which made him look bad. Shogun is looking to clinch. Shogun fails with a takedown attempt. Mauricio Shogun seems to be getting the better of the standup. A cross from Flair lands. Flair avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Flair bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shogun's head. Flair tests Shogun's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shogun on the wrong end of a nice hook. Flair shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shogun sprawls well. Shogun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Flair gets slowly back to his feet. Flair shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shogun is trying to defend but Flair finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Flair is looking to take a break and control but Shogun is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shogun is trying to maintain the position but Flair is very close to passing his half guard. Flair drops an elbow to the side of Shogun's head. Flair wants to free his trapped foot but Shogun is holding on for dear life with his legs. Shogun moves into full guard.
Flair looking to pass the guard. Flair looking to sit in guard and control but Shogun gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shogun throws an elbow that misses. Flair uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shogun's guard. Nice move by Flair!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shogun swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shogun wants to sweep here but Flair controlling him for the moment. Shogun can't keep his opponent in guard - Flair advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Flair missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Flair is just content to waste time from the top position. Shogun takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Shogun looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shogun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Flair's guard. Flair looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Shogun throwing strikes from guard but Flair blocks nicely. Shogun looking to sit in guard and control but Flair gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Flair trying to control the position from guard on top but Shogun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shogun is looking to stand up but Flair isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shogun swivels though and keeps the full guard. Flair advances position into side control! Flair tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Flair has knee on belly and moves into mount. Shogun tries to reverse the position but Flair maintains control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flair tries to control but Shogun wriggling away. Shogun sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flair takes a swing at Shogun's ribcage but misses. Flair throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Flair circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mauricio Shogun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Flair dives in and grabs Shogun's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shogun pushes down on Flair's head and hops out. Nice sprawl there from Shogun as Flair shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Flair. That's going to take a lot out of him. Flair throws a looping overhand right but Shogun ducks down to avoid it. Shogun throws a nice looking combination but Flair bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Shogun attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Shogun displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Flair. Shogun shoots in but no luck this time. Flair rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shogun moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Flair shoots for a takedown but Shogun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Flair gets tackled into the ropes by Shogun. Shogun maintains the clinch. Shogun leaning his opponent against the ropes. Flair blocks an elbow strike. Flair tries to break the clinch but Shogun is controlling the position. Shogun escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flair goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Shogun throws a right and a left that Flair avoids nicely. Flair throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shogun's waist but Shogun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flair off to one side. Shogun scores with a crisp jab that stopped Flair in his tracks. Flair gets a double leg takedown into Shogun's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flair pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shogun is keeping the position for now. Flair avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Shogun gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Shogun really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Flair has isolated one of Shogun's arms. Shogun looking to fight him off but Flair twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
