Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Smit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sham Pow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smit comes to the cage accompanied by Can't be Touched. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Smit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sham Pow! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smit moves into the clinch. Smit avoids the elbow strike from Pow, against the cage.
Pow misses with an elbow over the top. Pow lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Smit avoiding damage as Pow throws knees to the body.

Smit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A right-left combo lands from Smit.
It looks like Sham Pow has been cut. Smit fails to land with a series of punches.
Smit misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pow.
Smit moves into the clinch successfully.
Smit escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smit attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Pow tries to keep at a distance but Smit has taken the fight into the clinch. Pow managing to block the knees to the body from Smit.

Pow is trying to stall.
Pow misses with an elbow over the top. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Pow just misses with a elbow thrown towards Smit's brow. Smit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smit scores with a hook. Pow tries to clinch up but Smit circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smit throws a leg kick which misses Pow's front leg but catches the back leg as Pow tries to avoid it. Pow closes the distance looking to clinch and Smit counters with a nice double leg into guard. Smit avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pow should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Pow looks gassed! Smit trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pow's guard. Pow manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smit wants to hold on but Pow pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smit slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Pow is working for a kimura but Smit is defending it quite comfortably.

Smit keeps control of the position for the meantime. Smit wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smit is trying to stand up here but Pow is controlling him well. Smit is holding on to half guard well. Smit manages to escape and get back to his feet! Smit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pow's guard. Smit won't allow Pow to sweep him here. Pow is trying to control the position but Smit postures up. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pow has eaten all the pies! Pow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pow looking for a guillotine here but Smit defends easily.
Pow is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smit decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Pow has his takedown stuffed and Smit holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pow throws an elbow but it misses.
Pow gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smit tries to break the clinch but Pow is controlling the position. Smit on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Paul Smit dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sham Pow's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pow drops his hands momentarily and Smit takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Smit lands a high kick!
Smit gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. With the fighters up against the cage, Pow throws an elbow but misses. Smit manages to break the clinch.

Smit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smit takes a little break here. Pow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Smit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pow on the ground. Pow is not content to let Smit control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smit working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pow is breathing heavily. Pow manages to work his way to half guard, despite Smit's best efforts. Smit lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Smit tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pow. Pow wants to get back to full guard. Smit is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Smit will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pow is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smit's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smit's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smit prevents Pow from getting a body triangle. Pow working for a choke but Smit is defending well. Pow working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Smit has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smit is looking to stand up but Pow won't let him. Pow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pow looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are battling for position here. Pow manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Smit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smit's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smit is looking to stand back up but Pow counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smit. Pow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smit is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sham Pow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sham Pow's cut. That's time! Smit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Smit feints and then cracks Pow's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pow down. Smit moves into the clinch successfully.
Smit has had enough of the clinch but Pow keeps him there for the moment. Pow missing with knees to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smit misses with a few strikes there.
Pow fails in his attempt to clinch. Pow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pow darts in trying to clinch and Smit counters with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smit looks to land a combination. Pow sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Smit dodges the punch combination from Pow.
Smit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pow showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smit.

Smit has had enough of the clinch but Pow keeps him there for the moment. Smit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smit pushes Pow up against the cage in a clinch. Smit has hold of one of Pow's legs. Pow is fighting the takedown attempt but Smit gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Pow working for a triangle but Smit defends it easily.

Pow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Pow controls Smit momentarily but Smit frees himself. Pow is trying to hold Smit in close to prevent damage but Smit has managed to pass into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pow makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pow. Smit trying to control but Pow is working from the bottom. Pow manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smit manages to get himself to full guard.
Pow forces his way into half guard. Pow wants to work for an arm triangle but Smit is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smit wants to improve his position but Pow is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. It looks like Pow is going to stand back up.
Smit works his way to full guard. Good work. Smit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pow! Pow is trying to escape the mount.
