PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gill Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gill Mackey!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackey misses the shot to the body.
Mackey throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mackey lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mackey misses with a two punch combination.
Mackey swings for the body but Parker moves out of range.

Parker instigates a clinch.
Mackey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Parker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Frank Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gill Mackey.

Parker wants the takedown. Mackey is fighting it off but Parker persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mackey's guard against the cage.
Parker is looking to work some ground and pound but Mackey has wrist control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mackey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mackey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mackey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Parker cracks Mackey with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Parker immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Mackey is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Parker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Parker!
Frank Parker gave a mention to Wolfpack Blood Labs in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
