Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lander Plast! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Plast! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Plast tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control. Jackson controlling from mount. Jackson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Plast tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Plast misses with a takedown and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson. Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Plast looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jackson passes into side control.
Jackson staying calm. Plast tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson working the ground and pound. Jackson scores with a couple of short elbows. Check out the look on Jackson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Plast tries to buck Jackson off but Jackson is having none of it. Jackson lands some shots froms side control. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Plast keeps working. Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Plast has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackson trying to control the action but Plast is working from the bottom. Jackson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Plast's legs. Plast is looking to reverse the position. Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Plast takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Plast is looking for a sweep. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Plast keeps working. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Plast! Jackson stands up from mount. Strange move. Plast tries to sprawl but Jackson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Jackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Jackson moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Plast. Plast is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson scores with punches from side control. Plast manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Jackson is looking to control Plast's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jackson avoid being mounted? Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jackson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jackson pulls Plast in to control the position. Jackson controls Plast momentarily but Plast frees himself. Plast won't allow Jackson to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Plast looking to pass the guard. Jackson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plast postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Plast, into his guard. Plast looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Plast is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Plast is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.

Greg Jackson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Plast enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Plast manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jackson trying to control but Plast is working from the bottom. Jackson stands up and waves to Plast to follow him. Plast tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Plast's guard now. Jackson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jackson controlling the position from side mount. Jackson landing a few strikes. Jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Plast to his feet. Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson tries to control but Plast wriggling away. Jackson looking to secure an arm triangle but Plast defends it well. Jackson with shots to the head and body - Plast looks very uncomfortable down there. Jackson breaks from Plast's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Plast is rocked! Plast has left one of his arms exposed and Jackson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Plast screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
