Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bobberson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Dance! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bobberson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dance napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Bobberson cracks Dance with an elbow. That is naaassty. Bobberson tries for a kimura but Dance is defending well. Bobberson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dance is looking for a sweep. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dance is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bobberson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Dance slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Bobberson throwing strikes from guard but Dance blocks nicely. Dance is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Dance sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Bobberson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dance sees it coming and defends easily. Dance has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bobberson is working away from the top position though. Bobberson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Dance tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bobberson!
