Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taka Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Laskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshi is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taka Yoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Laskey!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laskey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yoshi is breathing heavily.

Laskey has managed to clinch.
Laskey lands a good knee to the midsection. Yoshi won't want to take too many of those.
Yoshi blocks the elbow strike.
Laskey lands a knee to the head.

Laskey breaks from the clinch.
Yoshi thows a left - swing and a miss!

Laskey gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Laskey breaks the clinch.
Laskey tries to close the distance and clinch but Yoshi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Laskey misses with a head kick.

Laskey clinches.
Yoshi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Laskey's efforts to push away.

Laskey moves in looking to clinch but Yoshi pushes him off.

Laskey tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yoshi counters with a nice uppercut.
Taka Yoshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Laskey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Laskey wants to clinch but Yoshi slips to the side
and Yoshi counters with a big head kick but Laskey shrugs it off.
Laskey blocks a jab.

Laskey takes the fight into the clinch.
Laskey fails to pull guard.
Yoshi misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Laskey tries to land knees in the clinch but Yoshi avoids the damage to the body.

Laskey is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Yoshi is defending well for now.

Laskey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yoshi misses with a low kick.

Laskey gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Laskey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Yoshi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Laskey tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yoshi's elbow.
Laskey lands a nice uppercut.

Yoshi misses with a punch to the body.
Yoshi is pressed up against the cage. Laskey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yoshi down to the mat. Yoshi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Taka Yoshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Laskey.

Laskey gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Laskey digs a right hand underneath Yoshi's ribcage. Yoshi let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Laskey pulls Yoshi into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Laskey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yoshi manages to get himself to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laskey stays in close to Yoshi's body and controls the position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Laskey thuds a left hand into Yoshi's body.
Laskey tries to clinch up but Yoshi circles away and keeps his distance.

Laskey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yoshi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Laskey goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Taka Yoshi has been cut.

Laskey moves into range and clinches up with Yoshi.
Laskey lands an elbow that stopped Yoshi in his tracks for a moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Yoshi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Laskey connects with a knee to the head.
Laskey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Yoshi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Laskey tries to clinch but Yoshi moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Laskey has taken the fight to the clinch.
Laskey tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Laskey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Laskey wants to take the fight to the mat but Yoshi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Laskey is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Laskey lands an elbow inside.

Laskey pulls Yoshi into guard.

Laskey is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

and Yoshi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Laskey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laskey doesn't manage to clinch there - Yoshi circles away.
Laskey wants to clinch up but Yoshi keeps it at a distance.

and Yoshi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Jerry Laskey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Laskey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Yoshi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Yoshi counters with a thumping low kick.
Laskey scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Yoshi swats away the attempt to clinch by Laskey.
Laskey connects with a nice cross there... Yoshi is looking wobbly and Laskey recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Yoshi to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Laskey jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
