PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mason Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reece Edward Duenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duenas has chosen California Gurls as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Reece Edward Duenas!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duenas doesn't manage to clinch there - Dixon circles away.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dixon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Duenas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Duenas lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dixon backwards.
Dixon goes for a takedown attempt but Duenas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A good leg kick by Duenas.
Dixon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Dixon has Duenas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Duenas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Duenas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dixon uses from the top position.

Duenas pushes a forearm under Dixon's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dixon is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
