Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Crumpet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Born (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crumpet comes to the cage accompanied by Prodigy - Smack my bitch up. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Crumpet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Born!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crumpet tries for a takedown but Born circles away easily

and Born decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crumpet's guard.
Born stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crumpet swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Crumpet wants to sweep but no luck.
Born pushes down on Crumpet's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Crumpet is looking for a sweep. Born is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Born controlling the action here.
Born wants to control but Crumpet is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Born looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Born working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Crumpet's thigh. Crumpet counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Born looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kevin Born.
Crumpet gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Born counters with a takedown into side control.
Born trying to control the action but Crumpet is working from the bottom.
Crumpet parries the strikes from Born easily there. Born is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Crumpet to escape.

Born trying to control the position but Crumpet is working away.
Crumpet gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Born tries to control but Crumpet wriggling away.

Born controlling his opponent.
Crumpet tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crumpet is squirming around, avoiding Born's attempts to control the action.
Born looking to finish Crumpet with some ground and pound. This is bad for Crumpet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Born looking to score a takedown here. Crumpet is defending well but Born drives through and ends up in Crumpet's guard.
Born slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Born trying to control the position from guard on top but Crumpet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kevin Born has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Born fails with a takedown attempt.

Born is trying to control the action in half guard but Crumpet is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kevin Born was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Born defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crumpet.

and Born counters with a left and a right that stings Crumpet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Crumpet shoots for a double leg takedown but Born sprawls well. He's pushed Crumpet's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Crumpet doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Born counters with a nice low kick that buckles Crumpet's knee momentarily.

Born shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Born tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crumpet knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Born stalling.
Born trying to control the action but Crumpet is working from the bottom.

Born closes the distance and pushes Crumpet back into the cage.

Born gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Born must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Born wanted to stand there but Crumpet had control of the position.

Kevin Born showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Crumpet on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Born throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Born, as that shot connected.
Crumpet doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Born counters with a right hand to the body.

and Born counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crumpet won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Born decides to stand back up.

Crumpet pulls Born in close to prevent any damage.
Born wants to control from the top but Crumpet keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kevin Born.
Crumpet shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Born counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Crumpet. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Crumpet shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Born's guard.
Born wants to get back to his feet but Crumpet is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Born is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Born takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Born looking to hit a scissor sweep but Crumpet is one step ahead there.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Crumpet wants to pass the guard but Born is keeping the position.
Crumpet trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kevin Born hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Born throws a head kick but Crumpet moves out of range.

Born dives in and scores a takedown into Crumpet's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crumpet has control of Born's left arm, preventing Born from doing any damage.
Crumpet trying to keep a closed guard but Born is proving a slippery customer.
Born looking to sit in guard and control but Crumpet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kevin Born has got the better of the ground game so far.
Born lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Crumpet!
Crumpet is looking to improve his position but Born isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Born lands with some strikes.
Born can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Crumpet is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crumpet sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kevin Born comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Born has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
