The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaco fails with the takedown.
Tanaka fails to land with a series of punches.

Shaco shoots in for a takedown but Tanaka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tanaka wants to clinch up but Shaco keeps it at a distance.

Shaco wants the takedown. Tanaka is fighting it off but Shaco persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tanaka's guard against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tanaka wants to sweep here but Shaco controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Asylum Shaco just wasn't active enough.
Tanaka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shaco.

Shaco avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Tanaka tries to clinch up but Shaco circles away and keeps his distance.

Shaco has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tanaka uses from the top position.

Shaco has his foot on Tanaka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tanaka works his way back into a safe position though.
