And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Don Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Abbott counter with a right hand.
Chon moves to clinch but Abbott breaks away
and Abbott counters with a three punch combo that has Chon backing up. Chon nods at Abbott to acknowledge the strikes.
Abbott throws a right and a left that both miss.
Chon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chon closes the distance looking to clinch
and Abbott counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Chon misses with an uppercut
and Abbott counters with a right hand to the body.
Abbott just misses with a punch to the body.
Chon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Chon tries to clinch but Abbott moves away
and Abbott counters with a straight right hand.
Chon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Abbott throws out the jab.
Chon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chon throws a combination that misses
and Abbott connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Abbott keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chon misses with a takedown attempt - Abbott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Abbott keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Chon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Abbott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Abbott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chon keeping moving, preventing Abbott from controlling successfully.
Abbott distracts Chon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Abbott scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Abbott throws a big elbow that misses.
Abbott controls from within his opponent's guard.

Chon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Chon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Abbott is one step ahead there.

Abbott not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chon tries to get out of the position.

Abbott's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Chon looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Abbott passes into side control.

Chon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Chon parries the strikes from Abbott easily there. Abbott is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Chon to escape.
Chon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
You can see the frustration on Chon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Abbott connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chon some visible discomfort.
Abbott looks up at the clock and then as Chon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Abbott smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Chon is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Chon pushes Abbott off looking to stand but Abbott dives back in and keeps control.
Abbott content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Abbott is working away from the top position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Don Abbott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Abbott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
