These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez looks to clinch
and Landry counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Landry pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Martinez wants to clinch but Landry slips to the side
and Landry counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Martinez thinking.
Martinez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Landry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Martinez wants to clinch up but Landry keeps it at a distance.
Martinez moves to clinch but Landry breaks away
and Landry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Landry makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Landry counters with a leg kick.
Martinez walks into a left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Landry counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A shot to the liver by Landry. Beautiful body shot.
Landry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Landry wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Martinez darts in trying to clinch
and Landry comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Martinez stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Landry is on him like rabid pit bull! Martinez slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brutus Landry!
