Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Omaha Steak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen Free Bird as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Steak feints and as Thompson raises his hands in defense, Steak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Thompson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steak controls the pace.

and Steak counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Thompson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Steaks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Steak manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thompson on his heels. He'll look to pass Thompson's guard now, I'm sure.

We're going to have a standup here because Omaha Steak wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Steak shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Steak was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thompson can do anything to dispel that myth.

You can see the frustration on Thompson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Steak, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
