Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alisher Isakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vegas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Party Rock Anthem- LMFAO. Vegas is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Alisher Isakov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cameron Vegas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alisher Isakov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Isakov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vegas counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Vegas is breathing heavily. Vegas working hard to break the clinch. Isakov wants a takedown but no success here.
Isakov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Vegas after a bit of a struggle. Cameron Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alisher Isakov. Vegas is pressed up against the cage. Isakov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vegas down to the mat. Vegas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Isakov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vegas circles away. Isakov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Vegas scores with a takedown into Isakov's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Vegas preventing the sweep. Isakov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Isakov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vegas! Isakov stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Isakov moves into the clinch. Isakov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Vegas prevents it.
Isakov is trying to drag Vegas to the mat but Vegas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Isakov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vegas is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vegas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Isakov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vegas avoids it really well and circles away. Vegas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Isakov sneaks back into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vegas seems to be working for a kimura but Isakov defends the submission attempt. Isakov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas stays in close to Isakov's body and controls the position. Isakov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vegas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Vegas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vegas won't allow Isakov to sweep him here. Vegas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vegas showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Vegas wants to pass the guard but Isakov is keeping the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Vegas connects with a couple of short punches. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vegas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. That was a close round but I would say that Cameron Vegas will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Isakov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Isakov shoots in and drives through. Vegas sprawls well. Isakov fails with a takedown attempt. Cameron Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alisher Isakov. Vegas stuffs the takedown. Vegas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vegas lands in his opponent's guard. Isakov can't keep his opponent in guard - Vegas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vegas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vegas is looking to advance position but Isakov won't allow it. Isakov trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Isakov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vegas is working away from the top position though.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Isakov with a lazy takedown attempt so Vegas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vegas's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Isakov keeping full guard, as Vegas tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Isakov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Vegas stopping the sweep attempt from Isakov. Vegas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Isakov on the ground. Vegas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vegas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Isakov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cameron Vegas dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Isakov shoots and misses and Vegas counters by moving into the clinch. Isakov gets control of Vegas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Isakov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Cameron Vegas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Isakov working a defensive guard here.

Isakov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vegas defends well. Vegas really is a fat lump. Vegas advances position into side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Isakov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Vegas is figuring out what he wants to do next. Isakov is looking to escape. Vegas decides to stand up. A combination from Isakov does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vegas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Vegas slips nicely into half guard. Isakov won't allow Vegas to pass to mount. Isakov wants to control but Vegas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Isakov is pressing down on Vegas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vegas trying to move into half guard but instead Isakov has managed to sweep! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Isakov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vegas works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vegas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Isakov looking to sit in guard and control but Vegas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Vegas sitting in guard here, content to control. Vegas prevents Isakov from getting back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cameron Vegas. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vegas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
