Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Fu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fu dodges the punch combination from Pope.
Fu avoids the body shot from Pope.
Pope tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pope takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pope looks to throw the jab but Fu is out of range.
Pope wants to clinch.
Pope will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pope throws an overhand right that lands on Fu's shoulder, as Fu tries to avoid the shot.
Pope doesn't manage to clinch there - Fu circles away.
Pope lands a big head kick that sends Fu tumbling to the mat! Pope takes a step backwards and waves Fu back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fu is rocked!
It looks like Freddy Fu has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pope misses with a series of wild punches.
Oh Fu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fu throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Pope pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pope throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fu scores with a head kick. Pope tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Fu throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Fu seems to have got his legs back now.
Pope misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Pope's sensitive parts.
Fu takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pope throws a body punch but Fu moves out of range.
Fu slips under a jab from Pope.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fu, right into the meat.
Fu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pope.
A head kick from Fu lands but Pope takes it in his stride.
Fu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pope has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pope! Fu is out on his feet! Pope rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Fu is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Fu is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Pope!
