Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankestein Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonard Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes into the arena with STOMP!!! by The Brothers Johnson!!! blaring out of the sound system. Smith has chosen act a fool remix as his entrance music. Leonard Smith will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankestein Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leonard Smith! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Smith closes the distance and pushes Mir back into the cage. Mir breaks from the clinch.
Mir throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head. Smith takes one to the chin there. Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mir fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mir is looking to chop away at Smith's legs. A left lands for Mir. Mir slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Mir ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mir paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mir fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankestein Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mir at a distance.
Mir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Smith quickly recovers to half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mir not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well. Mir looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mir wants to free his trapped foot but Smith is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mir missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Smith is trying to maintain the position but Mir is very close to passing his half guard. Mir seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mir to get the leverage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mir is trying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head. Smith controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Mir throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely. Mir sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smith defending well though. Mir is working for a submission of some sort.
Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mir trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Mir throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely. Mir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mir throws a big right hand that misses. Mir throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mir might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Smith preventing the sweep. Mir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith won't allow Mir to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankestein Mir dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mir throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Mir finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mir with a nice head shot there. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mir has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from. Mir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir scoring with punches to the head and body. Mir content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mir. Mir wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mir passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mir tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith controlling the position well. Mir tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it. Mir lands strikes from half guard.

Mir keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head. Smith keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Mir throws an elbow that misses. Smith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mir's guard. Nice move by Smith! Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mir holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Mir slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mir controlling Smith's posture. Frankestein Mir dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Leonard Smith's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mir pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mir gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smith counters with a leg kick. Smith tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.

Mir gets the takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith tries to buck Mir off but Mir is having none of it. Mir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there. Mir wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Mir working the ground and pound from side control. Sloppy strikes there by Mir. Mir grinds an elbow into Smith's temple. Leonard Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frankestein Mir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mir's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mir wants to sweep but no luck. Mir managing to control the position. Smith wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Frankestein Mir wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Smith slips a straight right by Mir. Mir throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Leonard Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mir. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankestein Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mir throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it. Leonard Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Frankestein Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away. Smith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mir fails with the takedown. Mir displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab. Mir is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around? Mir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mir off to one side. Smith throws a right hand that Mir ducks under and follows up with a left that Mir also avoids with ease. Smith has Mir up against the cage in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mir goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.
Mir lands a hook that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
And that's the end of the fight! Frankestein Mir showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
