Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokugawa Hattori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanamichi Sakuragi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hattori scores with a one two! Sakuragi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Hattori misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hattori swinging wildly here.
Hattori tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sakuragi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hattori somewhat.
Hattori throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sakuragi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hattori shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakuragi sprawls well. He's pushed Hattori's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tokugawa Hattori. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hattori misses with a takedown attempt - Sakuragi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sakuragi lands with a cross.


It looks like Tokugawa Hattori has been cut.
Hattori will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sakuragi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hattori counters with a head kick.
Sakuragi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hattori.
Hattori tries to land a front kick but Sakuragi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Hattori will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hattori goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hattori fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hattori throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hattori.
Tokugawa Hattori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hattori throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sakuragi throws the left hand but Hattori avoids the punch easily.
Sakuragi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sakuragi wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Sakuragi. No joy for Hattori on that attempt.
Hattori misses with a takedown attempt
and Sakuragi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hattori thinking.
Hattori falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sakuragi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hattori is breathing heavily.
Hattori pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hattori ducks under a wild hook from Sakuragi.
Hattori uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sakuragi.
Hattori has a takedown stuffed.
Sakuragi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hattori manages to avoid it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sakuragi misses with a left hand

and Hattori counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hattori trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tokugawa Hattori will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hattori gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sakuragi counters with a big uppercut that knocks Hattori off his feet! Sakuragi dives into side control looking to finish!


Hattori is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hattori struggling a bit here.
Oh Hattori is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Check out the look on Sakuragi's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Sakuragi fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sakuragi is putting a hurting on Hattori here, landing some big shots from side control.
Hattori is trying to buck Sakuragi off.
Sakuragi cracks Hattori with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Sakuragi immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Hattori is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Sakuragi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hanamichi Sakuragi!
