Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Sheamus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheamus has chosen shame for pain as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Sheamus! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sheamus defends it nicely. Nelson misses with a takedown attempt - Sheamus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sheamus throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.
Sheamus fails in his attempt to clinch. Sheamus misses with the combination.
Sheamus throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nelson's head.
It looks like Roy Nelson has been cut. Nelson shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson is breathing heavily. Sheamus moves into range and clinches up with Nelson. Nelson is trying to pull guard but Sheamus has him pressed against the cage. Nelson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sheamus's elbow. Sheamus is trying to break free. A frustrated look appears on Sheamus's face as he tries to break the clinch. Sheamus is trying to break the clinch but Nelson is controlling him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sheamus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Sheamus displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Sheamus misses with the combination.
Sheamus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sheamus wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sheamus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A combination from Sheamus does no damage. Sheamus throws a head kick that misses and Nelson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sheamus's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sheamus keeping moving, preventing Nelson from controlling successfully. Nelson wants to stand but Sheamus is controlling his posture from full guard. Nelson won't allow Sheamus to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Roy Nelson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nelson looks for a takedown but Sheamus sprawls well. Sheamus has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sheamus looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sheamus is trying to break free. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sheamus tries to break the clinch but Nelson is controlling the position. Sheamus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Nelson keeps control of Sheamus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Nelson is looking to control Sheamus's arms but Sheamus gets an underhook and turns him. Now Nelson has his back to the cage. Sheamus can't break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheamus working hard to break the clinch. Sheamus is trying to break free. Sheamus has had enough of the clinch but Nelson keeps him there for the moment. Nelson has Sheamus pressed against the cage, preventing Sheamus from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nelson pulls guard successfully.
Sheamus stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Nelson has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sheamus manages to get his head free but now Nelson has transitioned to an armbar! Sheamus grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Nelson! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
