Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryou Misaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Kronic!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Kronic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Good work by Kronic as he checks the leg kick.
Misaki swats away the attempt to clinch by Kronic.
Misaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kronic was covering up waiting for the punch and Misaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Misaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Kronic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kronic being controlled here, momentarily.
Misaki stands up and waves to Kronic to follow him.
Misaki shoots for a takedown but Kronic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kronic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Misaki pinned against the cage. Misaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Misaki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kronic at a distance.
Kronic keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kronic misses with a takedown attempt - Misaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kronic throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A low kick from Misaki misses
and Kronic counters with a one-two to the body.
Kronic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Misaki tries a head kick but it misses.
Kronic swings for the body but Misaki moves out of range.
Kronic throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Misaki counters with a one-two to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Misaki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kronic looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Misaki decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kronic misses with a takedown
and Misaki counters with a takedown into side control.
Ryou Misaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Kronic.
Misaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kronic pushes Misaki away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Misaki gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Misaki grinds an elbow into Kronic's temple.
Misaki decides to stand back up.
Misaki closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kronic wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kronic misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kronic gets underhooks to prevent Misaki's takedown attempt.
Kronic is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Misaki is keeping busy.
Kronic tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Misaki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kronic up against the cage.
Kronic manages to break the clinch.
Kronic looks to land a combination but Misaki avoids it well.
Kronic misses with a few strikes there.
Misaki lands a right hook to the body.
Misaki clinches up with Kronic and pushes him back against the cage.
Kronic lands on the inside with an uppercut.
It looks like Ryou Misaki has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Misaki drags the fight down to the ground.
Kronic looking to improve position, pressing down on Misaki's thigh with his hand. Misaki seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Kronic paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Kronic's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Misaki picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
