Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deacon Downs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deacon Downs will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deacon Downs!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy drives through and clinches with Downs against the cage.
Downs tries to work over Hardy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hardy pulls guard effortlessly.
Hardy seems keen to control Downs's posture.
Downs postures up.
Hardy wants to stand up but Downs is controlling him.
Downs stays in close to Hardy's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Paul Hardy just wasn't active enough.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Deacon Downs hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hardy wants to control but Downs postures up.

Deacon Downs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Downs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
