Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rafal Grubson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Slagman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafal Grubson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Slagman!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grubson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Slagman keeping moving, preventing Grubson from controlling successfully.

Slagman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grubson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grubson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slagman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grubson.

Grubson seems to be working for a kimura but Slagman defends the submission attempt.

Slagman is trying to maintain the position but Grubson is very close to passing his half guard.

Grubson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Grubson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Grubson has managed to clinch.
Slagman jumps guard but Grubson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Slagman pulls guard.
Grubson wants to control from the top but Slagman keeps moving.
Slagman wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Slagman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Slagman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Grubson passes into side control.
Slagman looks gassed!

Slagman seems a little lost for a moment, as Grubson dominates the positioning.
Grubson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slagman on the ground.
Slagman is trying to control Grubson's posture but Grubson avoids it.
Slagman is not content to let Grubson control the position.

Grubson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slagman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Grubson tries to advance to mount but Slagman denies him.
Slagman wants to control but Grubson postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slagman sneaks back into half guard.
Slagman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Grubson trying to control the position from guard on top but Slagman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Grubson gets to his feet - Slagman follows without any prompting.

Grubson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Slagman to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grubson pulls Slagman in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rafal Grubson will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Grubson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Slagman napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Slagman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Grubson's best efforts.

Slagman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grubson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Grubson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Grubson wants to stand but Slagman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Grubson advances to half guard.
Still in half guard, Grubson seems content to control.
Grubson lands with a punch from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slagman tries to get to full guard but Grubson has control of the leg.

Grubson stands up from half guard.
Grubson throws the kick towards the body but Slagman avoids it.

Grubson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Slagman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Grubson is in Slagman's guard.
