PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Crappler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Boothe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boothe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tyler The Creator - Yonkers. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Crappler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Boothe!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boothe tries to sprawl but Crappler drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Boothe regains full guard. Nicely done.
Crappler trying to control but Boothe is working from the bottom.
Boothe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Crappler is one step ahead there.
Boothe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Crappler preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crappler trying to control the position from guard on top but Boothe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boothe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Crappler's guard.
Crappler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boothe wants to control from the top but Crappler keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Crappler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Crappler avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Boothe forces his way into half guard.
Crappler keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Crappler wants to control but Boothe is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Boothe stalling away here and it's allowed Crappler to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Boothe throwing strikes but missing.
Boothe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crappler is keeping the position for now.

Boothe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Boothe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boothe is looking to clinch.

Crappler misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boothe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like King Crappler has been cut.
A combination from Boothe does no damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boothe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Crappler staying out of range there.
Boothe misses with a low kick.
Boothe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crappler.
A punch combination from Crappler misses.
Crappler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boothe throws a big shot that misses.
Crappler shoots in for a takedown but Boothe shows good takedown defense.
A combination from Crappler does no damage.
Boothe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boothe waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crappler.
Boothe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Boothe tries to clinch there but Crappler circles away.
Boothe buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crappler is defended easily by Boothe.
Boothe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Crappler.
Crappler shoots in and drives through. Boothe sprawls well.

Crappler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Crappler trying to pass the guard but Boothe defending well.

Boothe is trying to control but can't.

Boothe tries to roll over but Crappler keeps him under control.
Crappler is keen to just control but Boothe is a slippery customer.
Boothe wants to get back to full guard.
Boothe manages to get to full guard.
Boothe has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Crappler has passed into side control.
Crappler tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Boothe tries to escape but Crappler is in control.

Crappler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boothe has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boothe wants to control but Crappler postures up.
Boothe gets back to half guard.
Boothe is refusing to be controlled, as Crappler sits in half guard.
Boothe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Crappler prevents Boothe from standing back up.

Crappler seems to be looking for submissions.
Crappler prevents Boothe from improving his position.
Thomas Boothe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boothe is in trouble now - Crappler has advanced to mount!
Boothe working to try and regain half guard.
Boothe has given up his back here. Will Crappler look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Crappler can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Boothe is looking to escape.

A close second round but Thomas Boothe will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Crappler thows a body shot but no joy.
Crappler swinging wildly here.
Boothe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Crappler blocks a low kick nicely.

Crappler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Boothe did well to prevent Crappler getting side control.
Crappler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boothe's head.
Crappler is looking to take a break and control but Boothe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boothe is looking to control Crappler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Boothe avoid being mounted?
Crappler passes to full mount!

Boothe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Crappler fails to take his opponent's back.
Crappler is working hard here to advance position.
Boothe holds on, trying desperately to control.

Crappler wants to free his trapped foot but Boothe is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Boothe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Crappler stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Thomas Boothe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Boothe is looking to chop away at Crappler's legs.
Boothe throws a jab but it's blocked by Crappler.
Thomas Boothe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boothe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Crappler manages to avoid it.
Boothe throws a shot from downtown. Crappler moves away and avoids it.
Crappler slips a jab from Boothe.
Boothe moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Crappler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boothe tries to avoid it but Crappler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boothe to the ground. Boothe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Crappler stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Boothe.
Boothe throws a hook to the side of Crappler's head but Crappler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A lazy left from Boothe finds it's target.
Boothe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boothe smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sloppy strikes from Crappler. Those never looked like landing.
King Crappler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crappler misses with a hook. Boothe ducked under it nicely.
Crappler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boothe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boothe scoring well with a low kick there.
Boothe clobbers Crappler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Boothe just misses with a punch to the body.
Boothe dips to his left and cracks Crappler with an uppercut!


King Crappler's cut is getting worse.
Crappler walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Thomas Boothe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.


Crappler is rocked!
Boothe lands a brutal head kick. Crappler looks out on his feet and Boothe throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Thomas Boothe!
