Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grover Dowiyogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Duckworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dowiyogo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to another life - kano. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grover Dowiyogo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Duckworth!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dowiyogo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Duckworth counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dowiyogo's guard now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Duckworth looking to sit in guard and control but Dowiyogo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Duckworth is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duckworth thows a huge punch but Dowiyogo dodges it nicely.

Dowiyogo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duckworth on the ground.

Duckworth lands a big shot there that rocks Dowiyogo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Duckworth throwing strikes here but Dowiyogo is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dowiyogo is desperately trying to improve his position but Duckworth has a good base and remains in mount.

Duckworth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Duckworth's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Let's hope that Duckworth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dowiyogo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Grover Dowiyogo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Duckworth.

Duckworth wants to break free but Dowiyogo has control.
Dowiyogo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Duckworth is defending well for now.
Duckworth has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dowiyogo after a bit of a struggle.
Duckworth is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dowiyogo pulls him back up using the underhooks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duckworth has Dowiyogo pressed against the cage, preventing Dowiyogo from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Duckworth jumps guard and drags Dowiyogo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Dowiyogo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duckworth doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Dowiyogo wants to stand but Duckworth has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jack Duckworth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Duckworth has control of Dowiyogo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dowiyogo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Duckworth tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Dowiyogo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Duckworth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Duckworth is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dowiyogo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dowiyogo shrugs it off.
