Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clement Kumalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clement Kumalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Silva!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumalo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Silva rushes Kumalo and presses him up against the cage.

Silva has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kumalo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Silva is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Silva gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Silva gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Silva apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Frank Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva moves into the clinch.
Kumalo can't break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kumalo tries to break free but Silva pushes him back against the cage.
Kumalo wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.
Kumalo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kumalo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kumalo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Kumalo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva gets a double leg takedown into Kumalo's guard.
Silva throws a big right hand that misses.
Kumalo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Silva.
Silva stops Kumalo from standing up.
Kumalo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Silva won't allow Kumalo to get back to his feet.
Kumalo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kumalo keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva advances to half guard.
Silva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Silva is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kumalo defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kumalo scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Silva manages to mount him!
Kumalo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kumalo tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Kumalo really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Silva lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Silva looking to secure an arm triangle but Kumalo defends it well.
Kumalo is trying to stand up.
Silva dominating with strikes here.
Poor strikes thrown by Silva there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Silva thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Kumalo is bucking up trying to escape but Silva cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kumalo tries to buck Silva off but he can't manage it.

Silva throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Silva working the ground and pound effectively.
Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Silva misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Kumalo wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Silva dominated that round.
That's time! Kumalo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Silva takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Kumalo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kumalo swivels and escapes.

Kumalo lands a left and a right that send Silva crashing to the mat, dazed. Kumalo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Frank Silva has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kumalo counters with a nice right hand that sends Silva toppling to the canvas! Silva scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kumalo finish him?!


Silva is rocked!
Clement Kumalo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Silva.
Kumalo lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Silva up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Kumalo from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Silva's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Clement Kumalo!
