Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Carson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macapinlac Co! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Co feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Co sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carson's guard. Co is keen to just control but Carson is a slippery customer. Carson is defending against the submission attempts here by Co.
Carson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Co sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carson defending well though. Co thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carson's head. Co has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carson wants to get back to his feet. Co throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Co postures up in Carson's guard and throws a big left but Carson blocks it. Carson keeping moving, preventing Co from controlling successfully. Co throwing strikes but missing. Co wants to control from the top but Carson keeps moving. Carson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Co moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Co escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A punch combination from Co misses. Co changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carson tries to avoid it but Co manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carson to the ground. Carson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Co misses with a takedown attempt and Carson counters with a series of strikes. Co will be more careful next time no doubt. Co is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carson's half guard. Carson tries to kick Co off but Co keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Co tries to pass to full mount but Carson defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Co throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Co throws a strike but Carson avoids it easily and moves to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Macapinlac Co dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Co tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carson swivels and escapes. Bill Carson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Co shoots in for a takedown but Carson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Carson lands with a right hand. Carson misses with a straight left. Co shoots in and drives through. Carson sprawls well. Bill Carson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Macapinlac Co. Co throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Co circles away quickly and effectively. Carson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Co manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Carson won't allow Co to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Co utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Co looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Co tries to land a sweep but no joy. Carson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carson cracks Co with a solid left hand. Macapinlac Co has got the better of the ground game so far. Carson cracks Co with a solid left hand. Carson stopping the sweep attempt from Co. Co escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Co is breathing heavily. Carson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Co tries to move into range but Carson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Carson. Carson stuffs the takedown. Co manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carson on his heels. He'll look to pass Carson's guard now, I'm sure. This has been an exciting period of action! Carson keeping moving, preventing Co from controlling successfully. Carson wants to get back to his feet but Co is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Co is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Carson pushes Co off and scrambles back to his feet.

Carson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Co back to the cage. Carson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Co looking to score a takedown here. Carson is defending well but Co drives through and ends up in Carson's guard. Co is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Co throws an elbow that misses. Carson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Co's guard. Nice move by Carson! Co is trying to control the position but Carson postures up. Co working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carson. Carson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Co's guard. Carson looking to sit in guard and control but Co gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carson pushes Co off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Co fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Co looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Co pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carson is keeping the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Co trying to control but Carson is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bill Carson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Carson looks to land a combination. Co sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Carson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Co counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carson! Co wants to control but Carson has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Co is looking to take a break and control but Carson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Co is looking for a kimura here.
Co takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Co not landing any meaningful shots this time. Co is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Co. Co seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Carson has recovered full guard. Co missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carson wants to stand up but Co is controlling him. Carson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Co missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Co stops Carson from standing up. Co trying to control the position from guard on top but Carson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carson keeping full guard, as Co tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Co is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Co throwing strikes from guard but Carson blocks nicely. Co slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Co misses with a body shot.

Co with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Carson to score with a decent uppercut. Carson scores with a head kick.
Carson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Co. Bill Carson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Macapinlac Co. Carson lands a two punch combo.
Carson tests Co's chin there with a solid looking shot. Co misses with a takedown attempt - Carson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Co's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Macapinlac Co comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Co has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
