Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Fragoso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremiah Weed! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fragoso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Weed is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fragoso throwing strikes from guard but Weed blocks nicely. Fragoso sitting in guard here, content to control. Weed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fragoso preventing the sweep. Weed pulls Fragoso in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Andy Fragoso just wasn't active enough. Weed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Fragoso throws a hook to the side of Weed's head but Weed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Weed tries a head kick but it misses.
Weed gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Fragoso counters by moving into the clinch. Weed wants the takedown. Fragoso is fighting it off but Weed persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fragoso's guard against the cage. Weed trying to control the position from guard on top but Fragoso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fragoso wants to get back to his feet but Weed is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fragoso has his feet on Weed's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fragoso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Weed cracks Fragoso with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Weed shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fragoso as he jumps to the side. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Weed moves to clinch but Fragoso breaks away and Fragoso counters with a takedown into side control. Weed wants to control but Fragoso postures up. Fragoso tries to move to mount but Weed blocks the move with his legs. Fragoso decides to stand back up. Fragoso drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weed tries to bench press Fragoso off him but Fragoso keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fragoso looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Weed tries to strike from the bottom but misses. The ground and pound from Fragoso seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Weed is trying to improve his position. A bit of a lull in the action here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Weed is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weed manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fragoso's best efforts. Fragoso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weed keeps working. Weed is trying to stand back up but Fragoso is controlling him
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weed can do anything to dispel that myth. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Andy Fragoso wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Fragoso tries to clinch but Weed moves out of range. Fragoso tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Weed swivels and escapes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weed misses with a head kick.
Fragoso throws a head kick that misses. Weed tries to close the distance and clinch but Fragoso swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weed decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fragoso gets full guard. Fragoso pulls Weed in close to prevent any damage. Fragoso looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Weed controlling from the top position. Weed wants to pass the guard but Fragoso is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fragoso is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Weed stopping the sweep attempt from Fragoso. Weed trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jeremiah Weed has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Weed looks to land a combination but Fragoso avoids it well. Fragoso blocks the body kick.
Fragoso has Weed up against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Fragoso tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Weed just stands there and leans against the cage. Weed with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Fragoso jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Weed walks away with a smile on his face. Fragoso gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weed is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Weed tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fragoso swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fragoso displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Weed. Andy Fragoso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah Weed. Fragoso tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Weed paws at him with a jab and circles away. Weed dives in and grabs Fragoso's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fragoso pushes down on Weed's head and hops out. Fragoso misses with a takedown attempt and Weed counters with a nice double leg into guard. Weed is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Fragoso looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weed stands and throws Fragoso's legs to the side, diving into side control. Weed wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fragoso keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremiah Weed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Fragoso blocks a head kick by Weed.
Weed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fragoso tries to avoid it but Weed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fragoso to the ground. Fragoso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fragoso is looking to clinch. Weed is looking to clinch. A momentary lapse in concentration from Fragoso enables Weed to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fragoso manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fragoso looking for a sweep. Not yet Fragoso, not yet. Weed trying to control the position from guard on top but Fragoso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fragoso is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Weed defends well. Fragoso pulls Weed in close to his closed guard and prevents Weed from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fragoso wants to sweep here but Weed controlling him for the moment. Fragoso looking to control.

Jeremiah Weed has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Weed fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Weed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fragoso but Fragoso pushes him off and we're back to square one. Andy Fragoso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah Weed. Weed takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fragoso tries to score a power double leg takedown but Weed sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fragoso somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fragoso shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fragoso is looking to stall here but Weed recovers full guard. Weed looking to control.
Fragoso wants to control from the top but Weed keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fragoso wants to stand but Weed has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Weed looking to control.
Andy Fragoso overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fragoso wants to control from the top but Weed keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Weed wants to sweep here but Fragoso controlling him for the moment.
Andy Fragoso has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Weed pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fragoso back to the cage. Weed follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Andy Fragoso has been cut. Weed tries to sprawl but Fragoso drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fragoso wants to pass the guard but Weed is defending well. Weed works his way to full guard. Good work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Weed keeping full guard, as Fragoso tries to pass. Fragoso scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Fragoso looking to pass the guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fragoso trying to control but Weed is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andy Fragoso. I think Fragoso has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
