Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Houses! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Extra Pass! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Houses thumps Pass with a low kick. Pass is looking to clinch but Houses is avoiding it.
Pass doesn't manage to clinch there - Houses circles away.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Pass tries to throw a body punch but Houses avoids it by throwing Pass back against the cage. Pass wants to break free but Houses has control.
Pass fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Houses breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pass shoots in looking for a takedown but Houses manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pass's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pass misses with a series of wild punches.
Pass throws a combination that misses and Houses counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Houses tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pass sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Houses somewhat. Houses feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Houses really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Houses is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Houses landing with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Houses gets to his feet - Pass follows without any prompting. Pass tries to close the distance and clinch up but Houses swats him away and circles back towards the center. No luck for Houses with that takedown attempt. Houses avoids a punch combination nicely.
Houses keeps the fight on the outside. Pass wants to clinch enabling Houses to counter with a crisp jab. Houses darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Houses is trying to control the action in half guard but Pass is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Houses missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Houses is working for a kimura but Pass is defending it quite comfortably.
Houses tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pass knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pass is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pass blocking the ground and pound attempt from Houses. Pass is looking for a sweep. Houses is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Houses performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We're going to have a standup here because Dave Houses wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Pass gets caught flat footed, as Houses shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Houses drops back looking for a leg! Pass is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pass manages to kick Houses off! Houses jumps back into Pass's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Houses is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Houses trying to control but Pass is working from the bottom. Pass pushes Houses off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Houses looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Houses throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Houses scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dave Houses overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Houses not doing much here.

We're going to have a standup here because Dave Houses wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Houses shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pass as he jumps to the side. Houses throws a right and a left that both miss. Pass changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Houses tries to avoid it but Pass manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Houses to the ground. Houses escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Houses looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pass! Houses trying to control but he's not successful this time. Houses connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Houses avoids the attempt from Pass to control. Houses looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Houses has hold of Pass's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pass manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Houses tries to control but Pass wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Houses will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Houses lands a nice shot to the head. Pass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houses. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Houses is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pass has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Houses has control of Pass's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pass regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Houses tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pass is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Houses is looking for a kimura but Pass is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Houses to get the leverage. Houses decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Houses lands a nice hook to Pass's body. Pass takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Pass tries to clinch up but Houses circles away and keeps his distance. Houses shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pass defends it nicely. Houses closes the distance and pushes Pass back into the cage. Houses escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Houses shoots in and bounces Pass off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Houses gets to his feet - Pass follows without any prompting. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pass misses with a series of wild punches.

Oh, that's unlucky for Houses but great work by Pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Houses is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Houses can't do much from the bottom here. Pass is looking to take a break and control but Houses is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pass working away.

Pass is looking to clinch. Extra Pass has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dave Houses is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Houses fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Houses showed his dominance in that final round. Well Houses has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
