The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. bam looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
bam takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Carson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. bam knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Carson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
bam moves in looking to clinch but Carson pushes him off.
Carson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

and Carson counters with a nice double leg into side control. bam won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
