The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ross throwing shots but Brown is blocking nicely.
Brown wants to get back to his feet.

Ross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Derrick Ross wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Brown darts in and clinches Ross up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Ross has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Brown uses from the top position.

Brown wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Ross's closed guard. He's half up but Ross has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Ross pivots and extends the arm, Brown falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Ross! Well done that man!
