The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quik looking to score a takedown here. Gaston is defending well but Quik drives through and ends up in Gaston's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Quik wants to control from the top but Gaston keeps moving.
Quik throws a strike but Gaston rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nick Gaston has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gaston's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
