The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponna wants to clinch up but Aurelius keeps it at a distance.
Ponna leaves Aurelius with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aurelius closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Aurelius tries for a takedown but Ponna manages to get underhooks.
Aurelius gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ponna wants to get back to his feet.
Aurelius content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ponna knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aurelius on the ground.

Maximous Aurelius has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ponna wants to clinch up but Aurelius keeps it at a distance.

Ponna throws a punch but it's blocked by Aurelius.

Ponna using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Aurelius has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Aurelius has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ponna avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ponna lands an elbow that stopped Aurelius in his tracks for a moment.
Ponna connects with a nasty looking knee right to Aurelius's face.

Aurelius jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ponna walks away with a smile on his face. Aurelius gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ponna tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aurelius paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ponna closes the distance and clinches.
Aurelius seems to have recovered his senses.
Ponna landing knees to the body.

Ponna pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ponna jerks Aurelius's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Aurelius drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Ponna goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Ponna because Aurelius was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
