Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohammad Lowal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lowal's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, KING KING KING. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans misses the jab.
Lowal takes a swing at Evans's ribcage but misses.
Evans looks to land a right hand but Lowal moved out of range.
Lowal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Evans.
Lowal scores with a hook to the body. Evans takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Evans shoots in looking for a takedown but Lowal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Evans's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lowal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lowal pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Evans is working to get back to half guard.
Lowal wants to control the pace but Evans is squirming around nicely.

Lowal goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Evans turns into him and now he's in Lowal's guard.

Lowal lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Evans!

Evans is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Lowal has hold of Evans's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Evans manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lowal throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lowal will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lowal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mohammad Lowal will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A very excited looking Mohammad Lowal rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
