Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarkko Ber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. why cant we be friends kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jarkko Ber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarkko Ber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Parker!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Parker stuffs the takedown.
Ber swinging wildly here.

Parker pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A combination from Ber does no damage.

and Parker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ber thinking.

and Parker moves into the clinch.

Ber is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Parker wants to take a breather but Ber is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ber is trying to stick to Parker's back but Parker is turning into Ber. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ber's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Parker.

Ber bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bruce Parker has got the better of the ground game so far.

Parker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ber is nestled in close to Parker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ber is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Parker sees it coming and defends easily.

Ber is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ber is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ber winds up and cracks Parker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ber tries to stand but can't do so whilst Parker controls his leg.
Ber takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.


Parker is rocked!
Ber looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Parker is still in real trouble! Can Ber finish him?

Ber is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ber is keen to just control but Parker is a slippery customer.
Parker seems to have recovered his senses.

Ber looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Parker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Ber fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Parker to the ground. Ber is now in Parker's guard.

Parker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ber has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Parker has managed to get both his arms back between Ber's legs - danger averted.
Ber is trying to control the position but Parker postures up.
Parker is looking to work some ground and pound but Ber has wrist control.
Parker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Parker is working Ber over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Parker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Parker wants to control from the top but Ber keeps moving.
Parker looking to sit in guard and control but Ber gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Parker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ber manages to get himself to full guard.
Parker won't allow Ber to sweep him here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Parker wants to control from the top but Ber keeps moving.

Parker throws a sloppy strike and Ber has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Parker is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Ber!
