Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Og Kush!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kush tries to clinch but Esperanza moves out of range.
Kush fails in his attempt to clinch.

Esperanza shoots in and gets a takedown into Kush's guard.
Esperanza keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kush's head.

Kush on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kush tries to get out of the position.
Esperanza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kush swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Esperanza drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kush looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kush looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kush!

Kush stands up.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Esperanza.
Esperanza takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Esperanza instigates a clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Esperanza.

Esperanza has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kush uses from the top position.

Esperanza is looking for a triangle but Kush pushes his legs off easily.

Oh but Esperanza is tightening it up a little... Kush has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kush reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kush taps out! Nice BJJ there by Esperanza!
