PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Blues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Deck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elwood Blues!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Deck!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blues will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Blues has closed the distance and engaged Deck in a clinch.
Blues tries for a takedown. No joy.
Deck can't get the takedown.
Deck looking for a takedown.
Deck goes for a takedown attempt but Blues pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Elwood Blues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Deck.
Deck tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Blues counters by moving into the clinch.
Deck has Blues pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Blues manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Blues prevents the takedown attempt.
Deck drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Deck is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Blues gets underhooks to prevent Deck's takedown attempt.
Blues pushes Deck back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Blues ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blues no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Deck tries to free his leg and advance position but Blues is retaining full guard.

Deck is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Blues is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Blues has escaped and now he's on top!
Deck looks gassed!

Deck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blues can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Deck had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blues is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deck Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blues's back instead.
Blues breaks Deck's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Deck manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blues manages to get himself to full guard.
Deck forces his way into half guard.

Deck is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Deck has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Deck is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Blues is surviving well by controlling Deck's body position as best he can.

Deck looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Deck goes for an armbar but Blues turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Blues.
Blues loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Deck looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Blues postures up and lands a big shot to Deck's brow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blues sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Deck's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blues seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Deck does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Blues looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Blues tries to pass the half guard into mount. Deck knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Blues is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Deck defends it well.
Blues wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deck keeps working.

Blues is working for a kimura but Deck is defending it quite comfortably.

Blues is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Deck manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Deck wants to sweep but no luck.

Deck escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blues gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blues stands up over Deck, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Deck looking for a guillotine here but Blues defends easily.
Deck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Deck is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Deck has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Blues is in real trouble here. Deck gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Blues is tapping out! Deck wins by rear naked choke!
