Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Mortensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Ferris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Ferris will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Herbert Mortensen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Ferris! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mortensen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ferris looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ferris fails with the takedown and Mortensen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mortensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mortensen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mortensen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mortensen wanted to stand there but Ferris had control of the position. Mortensen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mortensen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferris, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mortensen shoots and misses and Ferris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ferris. Mortensen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mortensen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferris tries to avoid it but Mortensen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferris to the ground. Ferris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbert Mortensen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mortensen closes the distance and clinches up with Ferris, looking for a takedown. Mortensen pushes Ferris against the cage but Ferris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ferris looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferris passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ferris working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Mortensen throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mortensen keeps working. Ferris is looking for a kimura but Mortensen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ferris to get the leverage. Mortensen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ferris is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Ferris punching from mount but Mortensen doing a good job of avoiding damage. Mortensen is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferris lands a big elbow. Ferris pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Ferris goes for an armbar but Mortensen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mortensen. Mortensen stands up from Ferris's guard - Mortensen perhaps looking for a knockout. Ferris has his takedown stuffed and Mortensen counters with a takedown into side control. Ferris is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ferris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mortensen is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mortensen in particular looking to stall. Mortensen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mortensen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mortensen moves into full mount! Ferris won't be happy about that! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Herbert Mortensen dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mortensen feints and as Ferris raises his hands in defense, Mortensen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mortensen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ferris on the ground. Ferris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mortensen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Herbert Mortensen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mortensen closes the distance and clinches. Mortensen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mortensen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mortensen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferris is one step ahead there. Mortensen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ferris is squirming around, avoiding Mortensen's attempts to control the action. Ferris is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mortensen with a couple of short strikes. Mortensen stands up from mount. Strange move. No luck for Mortensen with that takedown attempt. Ferris tries to clinch but Mortensen is having none of it. Mortensen closes the distance and clinches up with Ferris, looking for a takedown. Mortensen pushes Ferris against the cage but Ferris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mortensen with a lazy takedown attempt and Ferris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ferris. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbert Mortensen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ferris goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mortensen prevents it.
Mortensen decides to pull guard. Ferris preventing the sweep. Mortensen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mortensen wriggles free and stands up. Mick Ferris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mortensen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mortensen is tying to control. Ferris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mortensen is working for a kimura but Ferris is defending it quite comfortably.
Herbert Mortensen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ferris pushes Mortensen off looking to stand but Mortensen dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mortensen is working for a submission of some sort.
Mortensen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ferris is trying to stand up here but Mortensen is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferris keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mortensen tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ferris controls his leg. Ferris blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mortensen. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mortensen is looking to take a break and control but Ferris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ferris slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mortensen stopping the sweep attempt from Ferris.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ferris gets caught flat footed, as Mortensen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ferris looking for a sweep. Not yet Ferris, not yet. Ferris is working an open guard so Mortensen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mortensen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mortensen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferris, up you get! Mortensen scores with a takedown into Ferris's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mortensen preventing the sweep. Ferris keeping full guard, as Mortensen tries to pass. Mortensen wants to control from the top but Ferris keeps moving. Mortensen sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mortensen with a flurry of punches that miss. Mortensen trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ferris manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Mortensen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ferris is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mortensen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ferris's back instead. Mortensen has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ferris's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ferris rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Mortensen looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Mick Ferris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mortensen is keen to just control but Ferris is a slippery customer. Ferris is looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Herbert Mortensen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mortensen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
